well we have now been home from the hospital for a whole week.  Cassie and Katie are doing well, both are tired but happy.

 daddy stole a picture during the photoshoot.  there will be a lot more of these soon when they are all edited and look professional

quick update

so, sorry this post is a day late, but we have had a lot of adventures.  Katie had lots of fun for tummy time and she is doing great.

Sorry for the later post today, but I spent the afternoon getting some chores done and taking a little nap.  Katie is doing great today, she has been smiling a lot in her sleep (but not when daddy has his camera ready) and spending a little more time awake today.

 wasn't enjoying being in her crib this morning. she needs a little tough love to get used to sleeping out of our arms

 she had lots of fun in tummy time today.  she probably spent 5 minutes trying to turn over, and then  got frustrated and gave up

 she liked looking around the living room quite a bit

 she is starting to find her fingers more and more often.

today we went in for our two day check up.  the doctor said she is doing good, she has already gained an ounce since leaving the hospital (which is guess is good).  we have had a long nap today because we had a long morning at the doctor.  the pictures are a little out of order but they are still good.

 daddy finally got a little smile.  it was when he was singing, but i think she just smiled to make daddy stop

 tried out one of our swings.  we got another one today that is more permanent so this one is going to be for moving around.

 just before daddy went to bed last night, katie decided to open her eyes for a while.

she slept like this for quite a while.  i guess she was pretty comfy.

Another day older

I am hoping to update this pretty often over the next few days.  Katie is doing pretty great.  She is eating and pooping and sleeping and even cuddling with daddy a little bit.  We have a check-up tomorrow just to make sure she is still progressing. She has been eating a lot better as she gets more cleaned out, the doctor said she probably had quite a bit of blood in her stomach and maybe some in her lungs and that it would make her not have much of an appetite for a while.

 Monday morning Cassie had just set her down after feeding her and Katie started to fuss so daddy got to hold her for a while.

 she was trying soooo hard to get her eyes open this morning.  she just couldn't quite get it.

The littlest Johnson

I apologize for not sending out more pictures, my phone has not been working except with other iPhones.  I am going to post some here so that everyone can look at them at their leisure.  Cassie and Katie Rose are doing good and both are very tired.  I will post more details later but I really wanted everyone to see how cute our little girl is.

 one of her first pictures, she had a little scare and almost had to be emergency c-sectioned but luckily the doctor decided she was low enough that we needed to push right now. she was not very happy to start but it took only about 30 minutes from the first push until she was out.

 proud grandma. she came to visit when we checked into the hospital and stepped out so the nurse could check Cassie, when she came back the baby was out and cleaned up.

 she was only 5 pounds, 10 ounces, so the doctor made her get her blood sugar tested every 4 hours.  this is her first test and she didn't even cry.

 we finally got settled in a recovery room and she was so tired she slept from 6 until about noon.

 she really loves having her hand next to her face.  she will fuss until she gets it up there whenever she is awake.

 another proud grandma moment.  Holly came and saw how tired we were Saturday afternoon so she held Katie so that we could close our eyes for a little bit.

 Sunday morning, she is starting to show her little eyes more but she is still very tired.

 we got her all dressed to go home and she was excited to leave the hospital.  this is about the same time we decided on a name so i think she is happy to have an identity.
